Strategies Technical Assistance Manager
New Editions Consulting, Inc., a government consulting firm, seeks a Senior Analyst with expertise in providing technical assistance to clients, states, and grantees. Technical assistance includes assisting entities to implement programs in accordance with government regulations, rules, and policies focused on disability, aging and health services. We seek candidates with experience managing and implementing technical assistance strategies and activities for multiple projects. The right candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, can quickly pivot from project to project, and be a solid manager of people, projects, and ideas. The position will have a broad range of responsibilities some of which include:
- Providing direct technical assistance to states on a variety of federal programs and policies spanning such areas as housing, home and community based services, and vocational rehabilitation.
- Ensuring technical assistance services align with the federal regulations and policies while meeting the individual needs of the state/grantee.
- Working collaboratively with the clients and project teams to develop areas of expertise and provide targeted assistance based on the unique and evolving needs of the target audiences.
- Facilitating connections to additional supports and resources based on the unique needs of the state/grantee.
- Conducting needs assessments to identify technical assistance needs; developing technical assistance plans to meet needs across multiple audiences using multiple approaches.
- Fostering information sharing and collaboration among various organizations to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Facilitating small group discussions and meetings, to include planning content for large meetings/conferences.
- Developing and delivering webinars and presentations.
- Preparing issue papers, case studies, fact sheets, toolkits, and resources for technical assistance, training, and dissemination.
- Developing and hosting communities of practice and learning tracks.
- Coordinating teams of subject matter experts, subcontractors, consultants, and New Editions staff to complete projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- You are a confident, effective communicator, ideally with five to ten years of experience in providing technical assistance.
- You have an understanding of the subject areas associated with one or more of the following areas: housing, home and community based services, vocational rehabilitation or other areas aimed at improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
- You have strong writing, editing, and presentation skills and a wide degree of creativity.
- You have the proven ability to multitask, set priorities, develop a plan with metrics - and do what it takes to meet deadlines and metrics.
- You can deal with ambiguity and understand the importance of being flexible and adaptable.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment while taking the initiative and making things happen.
- You have a bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
Core skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Reading, understanding, and editing documentation and deliverables.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work independently, including able to manage own progress against timelines.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and in a timely manner with project leads and content owners.
- Ability to lead tasks to completion on time, within budget, and yielding high quality results.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage workload and deadlines across multiple, concurrent projects.
- Ability to work effectively with adult learners, especially in the areas of training and application of motivational strategies.
- Ability to provide support while maintaining a professional and ethical relationship.
Additional Knowledge/Skills - A Plus:
- Financial management of projects and contract activity to ensure work completed within budgets.
- Business development; to include contributing to proposal development.
- Staff supervision and development
