Business Roundtable Report: Employer Engagement in Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)

The Commissioner of the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) conducted a series of roundtable discussions with business and industry leaders in 2015 and 2016. These roundtable discussions focused on employment in four high-demand business areas in the following sectors: Federal contracting, banking/finance, health care, and information technology (IT).

Participation in Postsecondary Education for Students with Intellectual Disabilities: A Review of the Literature 2001 – 2010

Co-authored by Dr. Christine Domzal of New Editions, this article reviews the literature from 2001-2010 on participation in postsecondary education by students with intellectual disabilities. The review addresses program design and implementation and describes services across state, regional, and national levels. Little research on participant outcomes was identified. Recommendations for next steps are provided.

Money Follows the Person Housing Transition Structure: Washington Model

This report synthesizes the Washington Money Follows the Person (MFP) experience and presents it as a model with actionable recommendations for other state MFP programs on finding housing champions, understanding housing needs in the transition process, creating a housing-focused job description, training housing specialists, supporting team work, and building communication and collaborations.

Strategic Plan

The OAST Strategic plan was developed by New Editions in conjunction with OAST’s senior leadership to convey the strategic direction of the newly formed office to its customers and stakeholders. This five year plan describes the alignment of OAST priorities and activities with its mission, vision, goals, and strategies.

Disability Policy Working Paper Series

New Editions’ team of researchers prepared 10 working papers on disability policy issues to support the 2010 National Disability Summit on Disability Policy. This landmark event marked the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and attracted over 400 stakeholders from across the country. The papers addressed policy accomplishments and future challenges in areas such as civil rights, housing, health, employment, education and technology.

Research Brief on Vocational Success after Traumatic Brain Injury

This research brief was developed as part of the National Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center (NTAC), operated by New Editions, to summarize current research findings on strategies for employment success after traumatic brain injury. It was distributed to state vocational rehabilitation programs, regional Technical Assistance and Continuing Education (TACE) Centers, independent living centers, parent information and training centers, and vocational rehabilitation researchers.
