Business Roundtable Report: Employer Engagement in Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)

The Commissioner of the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) conducted a series of roundtable discussions with business and industry leaders in 2015 and 2016. These roundtable discussions focused on employment in four high-demand business areas in the following sectors: Federal contracting, banking/finance, health care, and information technology (IT).

Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) Business Roundtables

The Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) provides guidance and support to the state vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies that are charged with providing job training and placement, as well as on-the-job supports to aid individuals with disabilities in finding and retaining employment. State VR agencies can be most successful when they understand labor force trends and can look ahead at the projected soft and hard skills employers need to train and prepare candidates for the jobs of the future.

Accessibility Compliance Management System (ACMS) Software Application

The Accessibility Compliance Management System (ACMS) is a fully accessible web based software application designed to track Section 508 Program Office activities and compliance for all Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Components. The system was custom built for the DHS Office of Accessible Systems & Technology (OAST), which provides governance and oversight for DHS accessibility programs.

Peer Reviewer Orientation Module

Online orientation training module developed by New Editions for peer reviewers for the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). The module was developed to assist individuals with understanding their responsibility and role in reviewing materials submitted by grantees of NIDILRR's various grants.

Participation in Postsecondary Education for Students with Intellectual Disabilities: A Review of the Literature 2001 – 2010

Co-authored by Dr. Christine Domzal of New Editions, this article reviews the literature from 2001-2010 on participation in postsecondary education by students with intellectual disabilities. The review addresses program design and implementation and describes services across state, regional, and national levels. Little research on participant outcomes was identified. Recommendations for next steps are provided.

The purpose of this report is to present selected key data from the National Institute on Disability and

Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) 2014 grantee Annual Performance Report (APR). Grant funding presented in this report is for the APR reporting period June 1, 2013 through May 31, 2014. The report also compares data for 2010 through 2014 on some variables.
