Junior data analyst

New Editions Consulting, Inc., seeks a junior analyst to help with data analysis and research and evaluation projects related to a number of federal contracts related to health, aging, and disability services.  Salary will be commensurate with experience. Position is located in Falls Church, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage tracking spreadsheets for multiple data collection efforts, multiple projects
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Apply consistent standards and exceptional eye for detail to clean data, removing identifying information and/or identifying anomies in data
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Work with project management to prioritize business and information needs

Requirements

  • Candidate must have strong capability with Excel spreadsheets and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets, such as SPSS, SAS, Stata, R, and Python.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics; candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Social Science or Public Health will be considered if paired with documented experience in data analysis and/or quantitative research.
  • Candidates must be comfortable in a team environment, working on a hybrid/remote team, and be able to multitask.
