Drupal Developer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Drupal Developer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in developing and managing Drupal websites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Drupal site building, module development, and theming. An understanding of Microsoft Azure is preferred. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, under the leadership of our Senior Drupal Developer, to design, implement, and maintain high-quality, scalable web solutions for our federal government clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drupal Development: Lead the development, customization, and maintenance of Drupal-based websites, including site building, theming, and module development.
• Microsoft Azure Integration: Utilize Microsoft Azure services for hosting, scaling, and securing Drupal websites, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Custom Module Development: Design and develop custom Drupal modules to meet specific business requirements, following best practices and coding standards.
• Theming and Front-End Development: Implement responsive and accessible (Section 508 compliant) designs using front-end frameworks, Twig, CSS, and PHP.
• Database Management: Manage and optimize Drupal databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring fast load times and efficient resource usage.
• Security Best Practices: Implement security best practices in Drupal, including regular updates, patching, and securing the Drupal environment.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business analyst, project manager, and lead developer to deliver high-quality web solutions on time and within scope.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development work, including code, configurations, and procedures.
• Troubleshooting: Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for Drupal-related issues, including debugging and performance tuning.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Drupal development, including site building, module development, and theming.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks.
• Section 508: Knowledge of Section 508 standards and how to remediate issues to ensure the accessibility of web applications for individuals with disabilities.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a Drupal environment.
• Security Awareness: Knowledge of Drupal security best practices and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in a developer role.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in Drupal, Section 508, and/or Microsoft Azure are a plus.
• Azure Knowledge: Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including hosting, networking, and security within an Azure environment.
• Knowledge of Headless Development – knowledge or experience with headless development is a plus.
