Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Specialist
New Editions Consulting, Inc., a government consulting firm, seeks a Technical Assistance Specialist with expertise in developing and implementing innovative vocational rehabilitation strategies to support the Disability Innovation Fund (DIF) program. We seek candidates with experience successfully managing and delivering vocational rehabilitation services; experience identifying successful practices, increasing competitive integrated employment outcomes, or training vocational rehabilitation providers a plus. The right candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, can quickly pivot from project to project, and be a solid manager of people, projects, and ideas. The position will have a broad range of responsibilities some of which include:
- Ensuring DIF technical assistance services align with the federal regulations and policies while meeting the individual needs of the state/grantee.
- Serve as a DIF Technical Assistance Liaison for assigned grantees, providing technical assistance and engaging with subject matter experts to meet the technical assistance requirements of the grantees.
- Facilitating connections to additional supports and resources based on the unique needs of the state/grantee.
- Conducting needs assessments to identify grantee technical assistance needs; developing technical assistance plans to meet needs across multiple grantees using multiple approaches.
- Contributing to the planning, development and delivery of webinars, events, conference presentation and technical assistance products and tools such as fact sheets, issue briefs, toolkits, and guides.
- Participating in agenda setting, engaging presenters, and providing on-site support for national meetings.
- Contributing to reports and special studies/projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- You are a confident, effective communicator, ideally with five to ten years of experience in providing technical assistance.
- You have proven experience improving competitive integrated employment outcomes through vocational rehabilitation.
- You have strong writing, editing, and presentation skills and a wide degree of creativity.
- You have the proven ability to multitask, set priorities, develop a plan with metrics - and do what it takes to meet deadlines and metrics.
- You can deal with ambiguity and understand the importance of being flexible and adaptable.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment while taking the initiative and making things happen.
- You have a bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
Core skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Reading, understanding, and editing documentation and deliverables.
- Collaboration and facilitation skills to problem solve and implement program improvements.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work independently, including able to manage own progress against timelines.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and in a timely manner with project leads and content owners.
- Ability to lead tasks to completion on time, within budget, and yielding high quality results.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage workload and deadlines across multiple, concurrent projects.
- Ability to work effectively with adult learners, especially in the areas of training and application of motivational strategies.
- Ability to provide support while maintaining a professional and ethical relationship.
Additional Knowledge/Skills - A Plus:
- Experience developing and delivering training.
- Experience in grants management.
