This research brief was developed as part of the National Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center (NTAC), operated by New Editions, to summarize current research on family influence on career choices for people with disabilities. It was distributed to state vocational rehabilitation programs, regional Technical Assistance and Continuing Education (TACE) Centers, independent living centers, parent information and training centers, and vocational rehabilitation researchers.

The Study at a Glance was developed to be used at conferences, presentations and poster sessions to provide high-level information and inform participants about this important study.

This report presents the findings of an innovative, qualitative study exploring the experiences of youth with special health care needs as they transition into adulthood. It focuses on the importance of including youth in the decision-making process, and uses their insights and experiences to help shape and inform recommendations for future initiatives. This report includes background information, an environmental scan, research findings and quotes from study participants.

This employer resource highlights key issues related to health and wellness promotions for persons with disabilities as found in the complete Call to Action to Improve the Health and Wellness of Persons with Disabilities. It was developed collaboratively to provide employers with an introduction to developing and implementing health and wellness programs and services in the workplace that are accessible to all employees, including employees with disabilities.

This report presents research findings from a formative effort that was conducted as part of a larger initiative to better understand how patients and providers conceptualize prevention and preventive services. The purpose of this report was to synthesize information to inform the development of preventive service tools in order to help providers better communicate USPSTF recommendations to their patients.
