Clearinghouse for Older Road User Safety (ChORUS) Support

 Road with a skyline

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is dedicated to promoting safe behaviors of older road users to include individuals age 65 and over who are drivers, passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists, and bicyclists.  New Editions provides content management and outreach support to NHTSA for the Clearinghouse for Older Road User Safety (ChORUS). ChORUS provides state agencies, highway safety professionals, healthcare providers, law enforcement personnel, and the public with current scientific research information to guide these audiences in their decision-making processes when confronted with older road user safety issues.

New Editions conducts market research, develops and implements outreach plans and strategies, and monitors audience engagement and the effectiveness of strategies implemented.  This includes defining the audience segments, identifying appropriate communication channels and messages for each audience, and connecting to partners to assist in increasing awareness and utilization of ChORUS.

New Editions also serves as the content manager for ChORUS.  We continually identify new resources and tools for inclusion on the site.  When existing material is found relevant to the ChORUS mission and audiences, we add links and materials to the site. We also develop content by working with experts in the field of older driver road user safety.

We assess the website content, navigation and usability, making recommendations for changes as necessary to achieve objectives. We create content to update social media platforms as requested, including: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and the ChORUS national blog.

New Editions engages an expert panel to provide input to the outreach and content development for ChORUS.  New Editions also develops and implements a performance evaluation plan to continually monitor effectiveness of the clearinghouse and identify improvements in content and outreach activities.
